Search Technologies has developed a structured approach to investigating and planning search applications. This “Assessment” methodology has become an integral part of our services business.
An Assessment typically takes 7-10 consultant days of effort to research, document and deliver, usually involving two days on-site with the customer. This service is offered at a subsidized, fixed price as it provides us with the opportunity to demonstrate our deep expertise to potential customers.

This Assessment service can be used in a number of ways, including:
- Implementation Planning: The Assessment service provides a detailed roadmap for companies looking to deploy FAST Search to drive an external application. It can be used to plan a new initiative, or for the expansion of an existing intranet FS4SP system. Our expertise will ensure that pitfalls are avoided and current best practices deployed
- Business Case Analysis: Determine the business drivers for the use of search with SharePoint as an extranet.
- Migration Planning: Our experts will analyze your current search system top to bottom, and provide a detailed plan for migration to SharePoint2010 (FIS-E). This includes a gap analysis between the functionality offered by FAST Search and the existing search system.
