Custom Data Connectors for the Google Search Appliance

HEADLINES
Search Technologies specializes in the creation, implementation and support of custom connectors for the GSA. These enable content to be indexed from almost any type of repository or data source.

We build Google Search Appliance data connectors in two ways:
  • Using the GSA's native connector development tools, or
  • Using Search Technologies' custom connector framework, which also provides integrated tools for metadata creation to drive search features such as Dynamic Navigation or results sorting by property

DETAILS
Data connectors are an important part of the overall architecture of search systems. Standard connectors for the GSA are available from Google for a range of popular repositories, such as EMC Documentum, IBM FileNet, Microsoft SharePoint and OpenText LiveLink. However, many search implementation projects involve acquiring content from other, less well-known repositories.

Connector design often involves ensuring that document level security regimes are respected through authentication and single sign-on mechanisms such as LDAP, NTLM and CAS. Our custom connectors also handle complex security environments with nested permission groups.

Performance can be an important aspect in some circumstances. The connector must be able to acquire content quickly enough to satisfy the needs of the search application, but at the same time remain friendly towards the target repository.

Using our extensive experience, we'll find the optimum design approach to ensure that your custom data connectors are secure and reliable.

Search Technologies supports custom connectors under a commercial-grade Service Level Agreement.
