The Google Search Appliance G100
The G-100 is a rack-mounted appliance occupying two rack units. It supports indexing up to twenty million documents. Multiple G100 appliances can be used in a cluster to support larger document volumes, or to enable different departments in an organization to share information securely through a GSA backbone, even if they are geographically dispersed.
The G100 deploys a built-in RAID architecture and other redundant components to provide excellent resilience.
Users of the G100 can start small then grow their capacity of documents indexed over time, simply by upgrading the license. There is no need to replace or modify hardware. Licensing is sold on a 2 or 3 year term basis.
The G100 replaces a previous appliance, the GB-7007, and provides a faster, more robust architecture than its predecessor.
