The use of Internet search engines has trained search users to enter just a few query terms, with no query operators, and yet still receive relevent results.
However, this is a more difficult problem for intranet search, where high levels of recall are required, and acceptance of false positives is less tolerated. At the same time, enterprise search systems provide a wealth of sophisticated search functionality.
